There is so much power in this message and it is filled with many reminders that we can’t hear enough. As a recovering perfectionist and people-pleaser, I have done a lot of work over the years to release self-criticism and the habit of comparing myself to others. While I’m significantly less critical of myself (and others) now, I definitely still have moments where I shame myself for not doing something as well as I could have. Another big one is having moments where I hesitate to do something in my business because I see someone else out there that may be doing it better or with greater ease or has more clients etc.
The practice of viewing ourselves as we would a newborn baby or a small child (or our inner child) is a powerful one that I believe we often forget. For today’s meditation, the angels are guiding me to provide a couple paths you can take….
Once you are grounded and connected to your angels, feel them sending healing light throughout your entire body. You may even wish to envision yourself in a type of “womb of light,” cradled in love and protection just as a baby in utero. Breathe here and allow this feeling of love and safety to light up your entire being. Feel your whole body relaxing as you rest here.
As you feel yourself more at peace, you can do one or both of the following things:
1) See yourself now as you would see a baby or small child. Or see yourself as your inner child. Notice what you feel as you do this. You may feel called to have a dialogue with your baby/child self. What does this version of you need to hear? Or what does it need physically or emotionally? Perhaps to be held or listened to? Be curious and provide whatever is needed. You may also feel emotions arising during this process. Allow them to release however feels best - cry, scream, dance it out. Trust how you feel guided.
2) See yourself as you are now but shift the perspective and imagine how the angels see you. If you were an angel, how would you see humans? How would you see yourself? Be curious and notice how your heart opens and your perspective shifts. You may even want to play with seeing yourself along with someone that you have been comparing yourself to…how do the angels see you side by side? If any heavy emotions arise, allow the angels to heal them as they release.
Play with this and consider practicing shifting your perspective in this way when you may find yourself in self-criticism or comparison mode as you go throughout your day. You are miracle and a bright light! You are worthy of love exactly as you are!
